A world where every young person has access to the resources, support and opportunities needed to reach their full potential and build a brighter future.
To empower youths and families through health initiatives, education and community support, ensuring that every young person can build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
The Keomi San Foundation was founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. Too many young people face challenges that can limit their success, from uncorrected vision problems that affect learning, to barriers in accessing educational resources and essential support. These challenges often go unnoticed, yet they can have a lasting impact on their future.
Vision
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 2.2billion people globally have a near/distance vision impairment, where approximately 1 billion of these could have been prevented or is still to be addressed.1
Vision and its functioning is a strong predictor of academic performance in school aged children, the presence of vision disorders through childhood can continue to affect health and well-being throughout adulthood. (National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health) 2,3
Education
Access to quality educational resources, including school supplies, textbooks, and learning materials, helps create an environment where children can participate fully in school and reach their academic potential. UNESCO recognizes equitable access to educational opportunities and resources as fundamental to inclusive, quality education, while other organizations note that the cost of educational materials remains a significant barrier for many children and families.4,5,
Community Support
Strong support systems and community-based programs help create environments where children and families can thrive. Research shows that community engagement and collaborative support initiatives strengthen social networks, improve well-being, and contribute to more sustainable solutions to poverty and inequality, particularly in low-income communities.6,7
